Pavli Serenetsky is an artist and environmentalist who makes films, books, and other place-focused experiences.
They are an Old Growth Forest County Coordinator and are the co-founder of the mutual aid focused Purpose Repair Shop, where they center an ecologically-focused Locations Department. Their feature films include More Beautiful Perversions (2025) and Firstness (2021), which received The Grand Jury Prize at Outfest 2021. Their other work includes the recycling project All Dreams Take Place in the Parking Lot (2022), the short dark comedy Streakers (2019), and the day-long 86,400 Seconds (2018). They have exhibited at the MoMA, Outfest, Atlanta Film Festival, San Francisco Independent Film Festival, Chicago Underground, NewFest, AIFVF, Portland International, Tacoma Film Festival, and more. They have published books with Featherproof Books and Thoughtcrime Press and they currently work as an educator and guide with The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains. Pavli likes to spend most of their time walking with their dog and daughter, hand-processing film with plants, and advocating for old trees.
